What better way to swing open the doors than with a bold new adaptation of a holiday tradition? Welcome to ‘Twas the Night Before Nutcracker, an original show from the Can Can catalogue, revived, restored, and adapted for the Paris Theatre.
The Story
Decades after her first fabled Nutcracker fever dream, Clara, no longer the child she once was, finds herself once again tumbling into a world of wonderment.
Step into a holiday where tradition is turned upside down and inside out. ’Twas the Night Before Nutcracker is a glittering, whimsical journey through Clara’s holiday eve. What begins with a lively soirée and an innocent absinthe toast unravels into a dreamscape of marching soldiers, mischievous mice, swirling snowflakes, and sugarplum visions.
Set to Can Can’s original adaptation of the iconic Nutcracker score, the show features new original songs alongside beloved holiday classics, a festive script, magical choreography, and stunning visuals. The spectacle weaves together classic, modern, aerial, and burlesque performances with Can Can’s refined cabaret style. Sprinkle in the perfect amount of comedy, and a touch of theatrical spark, and you’ve got a show as enchanting as it is unexpected.
